Blue Ribbon Missouri River

wolfbr

The Missouri River from Holter Dam to about Cascade provides exceptional wild trout fishing. Most of the spawning and early rearing is thought to occur in Sheep Creek, the Dearborn River and Little Prickly Pear Creek and its tributaries.

The following map is based on the late season vegetation index from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (green to brown depending on the vegetation condition). This is slighted edged with a Digital Elevation Model to show some of the topography. The line data for streams and lakes (blue), canals (cyan) and major roads (red) are added on top, along with some hand labels.
