Slavina appendiculata (d'Udekem)

Recognition

Dorsal hair chaetae are present with 1 to 3 hairs on segment 6 at least twice as long as the rest which number 1 or 2. Dorsal needle chaetae number 1 or 2 and these are straight with a narrow tip. The ventral chaetae number 2 to 5 with those on segment 2 a little longer and those on 2 through 5 a little thinner than the rest. Eyes are and coelomocytes are present. The body wall is papillate and often encrusted with foreign matter.

Summary

This is a non-swimming species ranging from 2 to 20 mm in length.

Distribution

It occurs worldwide.
