Madison River Tributaries above Quake Lake

baker

It is probably pretty safe to assume that Tubifex is rare or absent in all of the Madison River tributaries in this area. Please let me know if you "suspect" any stream and I will check it out.

  • South Fork Madison River- An early winter sample (294) at the US-20 bridge contained many worms, but no Tubifex were found among the 100 worms that were closely examined. The community here is a rich one, that contains a mixture of high-mountain and more lowland species. It is unlikely to allow much room for Tubifex.
