Vejdovskyella intermedia (Bretscher)
Recognition
More than 3 and up to 9 dorsal hair chaetae are present and they are thick stiff and serrated. The dorsal needle chaetae number 4 to 9 and these are simple pointed and hair-like. The ventral chaetae decrease in length from segments 2 to 5 and are single from segment 6 onward. The body wall has gland cells and may be encrusted with foreign matter.
Summary
It is closest to Vejdovskyella comata.
Distribution
It is reported from the Great Lakes and British Columbia.
