Recognition
The dorsal bundles with hair and pectinate chaetae. posterior dorsal chaetae and ventral chaetae strongly sigmoid, arcuate. penis sheaths distinct, longer than broad and narrowed medially.
Summary
Formerly included in Tubifex. Reproduction mostly by fragmentation, sexually mature individuals are rare. Poorly known.
Distribution
A nearctic species with widely scattered records.
