Pristinella jenkinae (Stephenson)

Recognition

One or 2 dorsal, non-serrate hair chaetae are present. The 1 or 2 dorsal needle chaetae have long parallel teeth with the upper tooth often shorter and thinner than the lower. Dorsal chaetae begin already on the second segment only in this species and those of Pristina, which have a proboscis. The ventral chaetae are variable in size with equal teeth and drop from 2 to 9 anteriorly to 2 or 3 posteriorly. The body wall is naked.

Summary

The length is 2.5 to 3 mm.

Distribution

A widespread species worldwide.
