Nais pardalis Piguet
Recognition
One or 2 dorsal hair chaetae are present. The dorsal needle chaetae are bifid, number only 1 or 2 and they are straighter than the ventral chaetae. The ventral chaetae on 2 to 5 are longer and dissimilar to those on segment 6. Some ventral chaetae from 6 with distal tooth longer than the proximal tooth, but not so thick and bent back as Nais bretscheri. Most Nais have eyes.
